Monthly Budget Worksheet

Balanced Monthly Spending Plan for ________________________
Free financial budget worksheet (2 of 3)

You should have completed the monthly budget worksheet to enable you to compare your actual spending for the month against your net monthly income. In this worksheet, we want to help you create a balanced spending plan.

On average, people spend 10% more than they make each month. You can't eliminate debt, increase savings, or maximize your investments if you are spending more than you bring in each month. This worksheet will help you create a balanced monthly spending plan so that you can cut hidden spending, increase savings, and eliminate debt.

Print out the worksheet below and:

  1. List your actual expenditures from January (from the previous email worksheet) in the column labeled "Spent Last Month".
  2. List your net monthly income and the difference between what you spent and your net income in the "Balanced Spending Plan Summary" table.
  3. Make the adjustments necessary for the plan to balance with your income in the column titled, "Adjusted Allocation".
  4. Add up the totals from your adjusted allocations in the "Balanced Spending Plan Summary" table.
  5. Subtract your total allocations from your net monthly income. This amount should be zero so that you have all your income allocated to a spending category, with no overspending.

DOES BUDGETING WORK?
Most People Spend 10% More Than They Make!
You probably know how much money you made last month, but do you know how much money you spent? Or do you know how much money you have left to spend this month? If you don't you're not alone, most people have no idea. The fact is most of us spend 10% more per month than we make. That comes out to $431 per month based on the average American income. No wonder the average credit card debt is now at $8,500!

A New Way To Manage Your Money
Traditionally, many people managed their money by dividing their cash into several paper envelopes. An envelope for food, entertainment, utilities etc. They then spent their money from these envelopes. They always knew how much money they had left, and how long it had to last. A new breakthrough in budgeting and spending management modernizes this same envelope concept using advanced computer technology.
